Flannel Lane, Abergavenny JAZZ-IN A Jazz Quartet (Mainstream/ Modern/ Crossover and Latin) playing a fresher repertoire than most. Can be seen and heard at the Hen and Chickens, Abergavenny every Sunday 1.15 to 3.45 pm. Jazz In is achieving acclaim everywhere it performs, giving credence to the expertise of it's professional and ex-professional members. The quartet mostly performs little-known but entertaining tunes that are not in the American Song Book and the "revolving" library ensures a new programme at each performance with a fresh mix of the familiar and unfamiliar. JOHN COLLIER (Saxes/Flute) During his long career in music, John has worked with many top names in entertainment; Bruce Forsyth, Buddy Greco and Don Lang to name a few, playing playing Baritone, Alto and Soprano Saxophones and Flute. JOHN GIBBON (Drums) John came to prominence as the owner of Gibbs Club firstly in Abergavenny then moving to Cardiff. John has been responsible for bringing some top names in jazz to South Wales. Always in demand as a player, John has worked in the UK, Europe and the USA. LYNN THOMAS (Piano) Lynn has played since the age of five working in all forms of music. At one time he ran a Hammond Organ Duo during which time working with the likes of Helen Shapiro and Wilma Reading. Since 1997 he has dedicated himself to jazz. DAYNE CRONENBURGH (Double Bass) Dayne has in the last few years moved to Double Bass from Bass Guitar on which he played Jazzfunk and Rock music.
